Where does your electricity come from?

New England GreenStart is part of a program called GreenUp that is being offered by your local utility, National Grid. GreenUp allows you to choose cleaner, healthier electricity right on your regular utility bill and is available to all National Grid residential and small commercial customers.

New England GreenStart is a blend of 100% renewable energy resources all located right here in New England. You can choose to match either 100% or 50% of your electricity use with renewable energy sources. Want to know more about why to choose New England GreenStart? Click here.

How does this Work?

Mass Energy will match your electrical usage with renewable energy sources. You will still receive service from National Grid, as well as be charged their standard offer rate for electricity. New England GreenStart is an additional fee per kilowatt hour that goes to support renewable energy resources. Currently, only customers of National Grid are able to participate in New England GreenStart. If your utility is NSTAR, Unitil, or Western Mass. Electric, and you would choose New England GreenStart if it were available in your area, please click here to participate in New England Wind Fund!
